The Package Control Identification (PCID) feature provides manufacturers with the ability to group products together and still manage their location and path throughout the business. Many workflows throughout the Epicor ERP system were updated in 10.2.300 to incorporate PCID functionality.
In this session, you will not only learn how to configure, generate and build Package Control IDs, but you will see how using PCIDs in your receiving, shipping, inventory management, job input/output, and cycle counting workflows is a more efficient and reliable way to operate.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe setup and configuration for package and material types and codes
  • Review dynamic and static package control ID codes with various parameters, attributes, and segments
  • Understand PCID extract rules that help locate a PCID within a scanned barcode
  • Use the standalone PCID generator to create multiple PCIDs and print labels for them with a single click
  • Use the PCID Build/Split/Merge program to add inventory and child PCIDs to a new or existing PCID, merge two PCIDs together, and split child PCIDs out of parent PCID
  • Generate PCIDs for inventory you are receiving via PO Receipt Entry and then move those PCIDs into inventory
  • Issue job material and assemblies directly from a PCID
  • Receive finished goods from a job to a new or existing PCID
  • Allocate PCIDs for sales orders and then ship that PCID
