EECX30 - SQL Server Performance Measurements Using Extended Events

Session Description

COST: There is an additional $275 fee to attend this session. Click this link to register: https://epicorinsights2019.smarteventscloud.com/portal/newreg.ww.

SQL Server introduced Extended Events in SQL Server 2008 version. While this is slated to replace the popular SQL Profiler/Trace, it is much more. This handy tool provides highly detailed performance metrics that include standard deviations, reads/writes along with wait stats all within a single tool. Unlike SQL Profiler/Trace, it has less of a performance impact while monitoring. In this class, we will introduce administrators to Extended Events and have hands on exposure to common events that can be set up back at your site.

  • Understand the value of SQL Server Extended Events
  • Read and interpret performance metrics
  • Create events to monitor database performance
