This extended education session is ideal for advanced developers, IT professionals as well as anyone building customizations for Epicor ERP. You will learn about the tools available in the Epicor customization interface that allow you to build highly functional customizations to support your specific business requirements. This class will give you a deeper understanding of the user interface architecture, how to leverage the controls and user-defined (UD) tables available to you in the customization interface. You will also understand how to tap into the various event handler triggers and add your own custom C# code applying custom business logic and how to apply your customizations to Epicor Forms. Additionally, you will also get a high-level introduction to the Epicor REST API, its use cases and features, work with it in a simulated environment with real examples and integration problems. This session pairs nicely with the Working with Epicor Data Using the Epicor REST API offered Sunday afternoon.
OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this session you will:
Understand the UI architecture, specifically the user interface terminology, common business objects, and extended properties.
Use the different types of dropdowns available and populate them with data using different techniques such as adapter searches, data from user codes and BAQ result sets.
Gain a better understanding of general .NET events and Epicor ERP specific event handlers such as menu item and button clicks, before and after field changes, before and after adapter method events and data view row selection.
Add custom tool items to drop down and context menus adding code to call processes to launch other Epicor forms.
Build Row Rule delegates to execute custom code when specific data conditions are met.
Use Adapter searches to populate data grids based on custom search filter criteria.
Add BAQ data views to existing forms.
Use UD tables to store custom data as well and build a custom dashboard to maintain the custom data.
Perform an integration between Epicor and an external system using Epicor REST API.
