EECX01 - Creating Configure-to-Order Items with Epicor ERP Product Configurator

This course provides a foundation for developing and testing a configured product using a rules based set of configurator inputs. It will explore how to apply the inputs that are specified by the customer to automatically create a manufacturing Job ready for production, even when the product being manufactured is unique and a first time build. The main workflow of Product Configurator is the same between Epicor 9 and Epicor 10 but the major change is a move to the C# code. C# is the underlying language used to develop screen customizations, BPM’s and is also used in other Epicor tools such as the product configurator. Epicor BPM identifies and improves processes to make customers business more efficient, more disciplined, and better able to adapt to change. BPM technology enables organizations to automate and streamline business processes for continuous improvement.
The BPM functionality is available on nearly every business process in the system and it activates using the Epicor Server. Whether the transaction originates from the Epicor Client or Epicor Web Services, the BPM results are the same. In this session you will learn the methods available in the Mattec MES system to monitor the plant floor. This includes the setup and configuration of Mattec’s high tech CFMIU, provide troubleshooting tips if issues occur. We will also discuss the different options available to monitor process parameters. Look at how the process data can be used to improve production efficiency.

OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this session, you will be able to:

  • Know the different configurations of the CFMIU.
  • Where to locate a CFMIU in you plant.
  • Program a new CFMIU in Mattec MES.
  • Configure the settings in the CFMIU to communicate to the Mattec MES server.
  • Know the basic troubleshooting tips if there are issues.
  • Configure an asset in Mattec MES.
  • Understand the different methods to monitor process parameters and how to configure them.
  • Configure the SPC to record parameters.
  • Setup alerts when there is a parameter violation.
  • Review the real-time screens to determine plant performance (OEE).
  • Look at the statistical charts and determine if your process is in control.
